Rhyme and Reason


I just realized that Inner Doodles rhymes with Snicker Doodles. I suppose it's not a true rhyme, since it's the same word, but it makes me wish I had some eggs to bake with regardless.

Well, the play is over and now I find myself focused on writing and painting. Here's my latest.

A Bit Heavy on the Pop Culture (Week 23: Day 160)

"The band of evil LEGOs are in hot pursuit! Assume your positions!" Raphael of the TMNT commands. "Take the high ground! Arm your weapons, speed meditate if you must, but then be on guard. We don't attack first, but we won't let them win," Sgt. Halo adds.  "Hey, you're not in charge," Raph comments.  Dust from the Mega Blok vehicle makes Sgt. Halo sneeze. "Quiet!" Raph snarls. "Sorry..." Sgt. Halo mumbles. "Shhh!!!" the entire team forcefully shushes, exuding spittle onto Captain Mom's glasses. But What of the Turtles?

 The swampy pit is now a veritable lake. The Earth's crust breached, giant rocks adorn the edges of the water. The only sign of life is the neon yellow vests operating CAT and surveying the work with poised grunt. Not a snapper to be seen. A golden mess of straw lines the muddy edge. I had almost forgotten what that lighting could look like what with our onslaught of gloomy days. The neon vests are almost done covering up their mess. My entertainment will come to an end. I suppose there is always the news... If I want a more dismal source of occupation. Would you rather be a snapping turtle with your mucky home unstuck? Or would you rather be governed by the squalid few who ignore their people gone amok?
